Right to Buy

useful information and links

If you would like an application form for the Right to Buy your Council property, you can email your request to the Home Ownership and Leasehold Services Unit.

Please remember to supply your full name and address.

Alternatively, you can collect an application form from the Home Ownership and Leasehold Services Unit at Bridge House, 320 High Street, Stratford, London E15 1EP or from any of the Council's Local Service Centres, or your Community Housing Office.

Please also email the Home Ownership and Leasehold Services Unit if you would like to ask any questions about the Right to Buy process, or to raise any concerns you may have about becoming a home owner.

A full guide to Your Right to Buy Your Home is available on the Communities and Local Government website. This booklet is also produced in paper form in the following languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Gujerati, Hindi, Punjabi, Turkish, Urdu, Welsh and Somali (PDF version only at present). These booklets should be available from the Home Ownership and Leasehold Services Unit and the Council's Local Service Centres and Community Housing Offices.

If you have any other Right To Buy translation needs, the Home Ownership and Leasehold Services Unit may be able to help. If we are unable to assist, we may be able to obtain help for you from Newham Language Shop.

If your home is a flat or maisonette, it may be helpful to read the Department for Communities and Local Government's advice for those who are Thinking of Buying a Council Flat.
